I've owned both male and female Chihuahuas (Short Coat) for over 40 years! In my opinion and in my experience with Chihuahuas, it makes no difference whether you get a male or a female. All of my male and females have both bonded with me and my husband no problem, both sexes are very loving and affectionate. If you commit yourself to your dog and take the time to start training and socializing your dog at an early age, then you won't have a problem with them being at all aggressive or snippy! I have #15 Chihuahuas right now! #9 Males and #6 Females and they are the most loving, friendly, well behaved dogs you could imagine. They have never been aggressive or tried to bite anyone! I started training and socializing mine, when they were very young! In the other question you asked about your puppy surviving a Spay or Neuter, I know that you intend on having your puppy fixed when you do get it and again it's the right thing to do. You will have a much happier and healthier male or female! Whether you get a male or a female, the puppy will love you and bond with you and you will love them and bond with the puppy, just the same, no matter what! It doesn't matter what sex the puppy is! Just make sure that you do not buy a puppy from a Pet Store, because they are all Puppy Mill dogs and very unhealthy! If you get one from a breeder, you need to make sure that the breeder is reliable and responsible. I would suggest going to your local Shelter or Chihuahua Rescue Group and adopt a puppy from there! There are so many great dogs, that would love a new home and someone to love and take good care of them! You will be saving a life and have a great companion!
