How can you eat one meal a day?

Asked by dani007 over 2 years ago, 7 answers.

Hey someone said that they didn't have anything to eat for a week but dinner. How did you stay off food when you got hungry during the day?

Don't know if they're being truthful, but I suppose it's possible being as we all have different rates of metabolism - I wouldn't last ! LOL

Drink loads of coffee with sugar, the sugar keeps you going.

When I was in college I knew lots of people who did this.

Dining halls were all-you-can eat and lunch was cheaper than dinner so they planned on coming in once a day for a huge lunch to sustain them the rest of the day to save money.

In reality this didn't work well; they got hungry a lot. One trick they used was to smuggle food out for later snacks. Sometimes a few packets of crackers was the best they could do since we had to leave our backpacks and briefcases at the door.

The less you eat, the worse off you are, your body will start feeding off of your muscles, not fat. I have been to 3 bariatric specialist in 2 different states. They all say the same thing...eat at least 5 small meals a day and make sure its a variety of foods. (stay away from the fad diets)Exercise everyday for a minimum of 45 minutes. Changing your routine regularly. Your body will get used to the same thing over and over (food exercise) and will get to an idling point.

Personally, the way I have been able to sustain myself on just one meal aday (usually dinner or something between 5-8 PM) is by basically training myself to not want anything during the day.

If you skip breakfast then you aren't very hungry for lunch. But really everybody trains their body to get hungry at certain points in the day (usually breakfast, lunch, and dinner) it's not so unusual nor difficult to change your eating schedule.

And by the way, I weigh 130 at 5'7. I don't look malnourished or starved and have had one meal a day for the past 2 years. O and I don't exercise. I must have one hell of a metabolism.
