How true is that if you take birth control, you don't need condoms?

My friends that are on birth control have sex with their boyfriends all the time without condoms, why is it that you don’t need them? How safe is it to not use them?

Answer #1

zudano is correct.

If you and your partner are clean and faithful then you could probably get away with only using the birth control pill.

If you do use the pill correctly (I.e. the same time) then it is 99.9% effective so you will be protected from falling pregnant

The condom protects you from STD’s and prevent pregnancy IF USED correctly.

Not using condoms while on birth control can lead to an involent pregnancy, in which the female won’t realize shes pregnant until about 3 weeks but by then it is very possible that the damage is already done by the birth control, such as a mis carriage.

its very easy to forget to take the pill one day. Even if you miss it on one day, it screws up your cycle for that month. If taken properly birth control is 98% effective but also takes a few months to kick in for you and be 98% effective. Condoms are one of the best types of birth control. The protect from stds and pregnancy

Answer #4

Birth Control Pills are 99.7% effective with perfect use. That means everyday, same time not missing once ever not even by 1 hour. With typical use it is 92% effective. This means out of the normal 100 girls that use birth control 8 will become pregnant within thew first year.

Using the nuva ring/shot makes most people close to perfect since it is much easier to remember/not have to do anything (shot) With these less than 1 out of 100 girls will get pregnant within the first year. Its closer to about 1 in 100 girls.

Condoms are 98% effective. BEst to use birth control and condoms and protect yourself from STD’s and pregnancy.
