How to stop worrying about someone I like from nigeria?

Hello, I was wondering, how to stop worrying about someone I like in Nigeria?
Well, here is the cause, the guy that I've started getting to know is from Nigeria, and, I met him off of this one website for singles who are part of our church and, a few days ago, he emails me to tell me that he's sick and, when he called me also, to find out, that he had Molaria. I hear that Molaria is life threatening and, for the last couple of nights, I've cried and, had some anxiety just because he's sick and, I don't know why I have these feelings that his health is going downhill.
But, I received an email from him today and, he says that he's okay and that the doctor would like him to rest. This guy, is very sweet and I love his voice and, his name is Samuel Afape. So, what could be the reason why I worry everytime he gets sick?

Oh! by the way,I , myself am from the US in the State of Michigan and Samuel Afape is from Lagos Nigeria.Let me know your thoughts.

No idea where you're getting your information from, malaria kills millions of people in Africa... The only people who have adapted to malaria are those with sickle cell anemia and they have that to worry about...
But if he is getting better then he will probably be fine... I've had malaria before, infact pretty much everyone I know has, and they're still all alive...
And well you could be worrying because he's a good friend, or maybe you like him? more than a friend?

Well your just concerned about him and that's good to know. For africans, malaria is more of a very common sickness and doesn't really pose a high mortality rate except in war ravaged country because they have adapted to the climate and other environmental factors, the presence of a large number of mosquitos being inclusive.
