WATER, MASSIVE AMOUNTS OF SUGAR AND RED FOOD COLOR. DISSOLVE THE SUGAR IN THE WATER, ADD THE COLOR AND PUT IT IN THE FEEDER. HANG OUTSIDE AND THE BIRDS WILL SWARM!

Go with 1/4 cup of suger to 1 cup of water. Bring the water to a boil, and add the sugar. Let it boil for about 5 minutes to get all impurities out of the water. I'd stay away from food coloring or honey, as it will ferment, and that's not good for the birds.
