well you're 13...
most people go into college and change their major at least twice before they find something they really enjoy.
and if fashion journalism is what you really want to do, don't let the fact that it is hard to get into get in your way.
I want to be a graphic designer, and that's hard to get into, so right now I do tech support at a nursing school, and I take on graphic design jobs on the side... one day I will get a good gig, but I'm not giving up just because it is hard.
Not to worry - you have plenty of time - out of High School, I still didn't know - sit down and make a list of your possibilities, then to narrow it, choose those jobs/career where you would go and do it for free, even if they didn't pay you !! - that's the ones when you wake up in the morning, you can't wait to get there...I wish you every success !!
well im in year nine too. I didnt know what the hell I was going to do but then we went on a website in pse and it helped me decide! its http://www.fasttomato.co.uk. you just need to sign up and I think it will work. im not sure whether you have to sign up with your school but give it a try!
good luck! x

How to know what career path to choose.
im thirteen, and in year nine and recently everyone has been talking about jobs and stuff, because we had to pick our options. everyone seems to know what they want to do! and I feel liek I should know!
I love fashion, and clothes and stuff and I enjoy...
writing. so I thought maybe a fashion journalist. but then, I heard thats really hard to get into.
I used to want to be a fashion designer, or a magazine editor, but I heard there are very few jobs around.
I like photography too, and I love history and geography.
I work on saturdays at my mums salon, where she does hairdressing and beauty stuff. I enjoy stuff like this, but I don't really want to just copy my mum, my grnadma did it aswel
I would like to do something with fashion and clothes, but then I want to do something academic, if thats the right word. I like art and textiles, and english, history and geography too.
im not bothered about being rich, though it would be nice. I would just like enough money to bring up a family, and go on 3 or 4 holidays a year, with enough money to buy new clothes every now an then, and go out for meals a weekends.
thanks x
