Any type of dried bean will need to soak overnight in water, after you wash them off. In particular if you're going to cook black beans, check for rocks (no joke) as sometimes there will be small ones in there with the beans.
After soaking the beans overnight, you're all set to cook them however you like. Good luck.

How to cook dried beans?
I'm thinking of making bean soup, as I recall, it's a pretty delicious thing if done right. Though beans from a can won't do the trick, from the recipe I'm following, so can somebody help by telling me wow to cook dried beans? Thanks.
