Q: How to become a famous rock singer without a band?

A: It is extremely hard to do something like that on your own. you could try out for American Idol. Which if you make it into the top 36 or top 24 or less, you have the chance of having more industry professionals see u. The higher you go, the better your chances. Otherwise, if you write your own music---try recording your own demo, and DO NOT include more than 1 cover on it by the same artist---and make sure that the majority of the tape is your own music. Then find a book that has all the record label phone numbers and addresses and call to see if each one is taking unsolicited material--if so. They"ll tell you to send it in! Singing in your hometown is great, but if you research the internet you can find competitioms or "idol" contests in other parts of the state---or an even better place to compete is in either LA or New York. That is where you have a bigger and greater chance of an IP hearing you or someone that works for that IP"s label might hear. LA and New York are where your biggest name record labels are located. It could happen by just staying in your home town---but those chances are like 1 in a milion.
