How much would it costs to build a house? A good size house, three or four bedroom, 1 and a half baths and garage also with a good sized yard?

In my area, the cost of the house would start at around $75 a square foot, plus the price of the land, which is very area-dependant. Go to mls.com to get a price for land in your area.

That price of $75 a square foot would include a contractor, so if you're your own contractor you can probably save a lot. If you're asking this question, I assume you should go with a contractor.

A good sized yard - that's also quite subjective. 75 x 120 might seem big to some. 45 x 120 might seem big to others.
