How much would it cost to care for a special needs kid?

Me and my girlfriend are thinking about adopting a child with special needs. I thought it would be good but then I remember a child would need medication and other things and I want it to fit into our budget. How much would it cost monthly to care for a special needed child?

Well it's a wonderful thing you're concidering...I wish I could give you some help here but in Canada we do things differently. We have Gov't paid services and medications as well as home support and respite support for parents who have adopted special needs children. Call your Gov't services and ask there they should be able to fill you in on it all. I really just wanted to say, if at all possible adopting a special needs child is probably one of the most rewarding things you may ever do and try your best to go forward with it.

Well you do get lots of benefits to help from the government and it will be a struggle but it is a very nice thing to do.

I am not adopting it, were thinking about doing that in the near future
