How long will it take him to trust me?

I'm dating a guy who several years ago was almost engaged to be married. She hurt him really bad walked out of his life. I know he's over her he told me that he wants things to work out for both of us, but he's still scared of trusting. He says he...

knows it will take him some time to not hold back. How long do you think it will take him to feel like he can trust me? Will this be a several year process? Is there anything I can do to help him know that he can trust me?

To give you a definate time limit is impossible as diffrenet people deal with things in different ways. If you really care for him and want this to be a lasting relationship you need to be very supportive of him. Not pushy and don't ask to many questions AND never give him him a reason to doubt you. Now add to that the fact that you didn't do the hurting so it shouldn't be your responsibility to undo the affect it had on him. It is his issue and if you just prove yourself trust-worthy you stand a chance. Good luck Gino
