How far will 30 vol bleach lighten?

I have almost black hair and I want to bleach my hair white but I'm not sure what I'm going to do about root growth. How well would it lighten my hair? I'm not familiar with levels. I also am planning on using a toner/color that mixes with the bleach...

to make hair a silvery white color and it has to be mixed with 20 or 30 volume bleach. My hair right now is blonde so that part isn't a problem. I'm doing it regardless of what anyone says so if you're planning on saying something other than advice, please don't waste either of our time. Thank you.

if you want your hair white I would recomend 40 vol bleach but I would also recommend you see a stylist for that cause if done wrong it could be very damaged and even fall

Yea I have a darker blonde hair and 30 dosent really change my color at all if you want to go blonde your better off going to a salon and having them strip your hair first then have them dye it the color you want. if not your gunna end up having to keep using it over and over.

I don't have the money to go to a salon. Would bleaching the new growth turn it orange? And can I bleach over the orange after a few weeks to get a lighter color?

I recomend starting at the bottom...30 vol is going to turn your hair orange anyways...be extremely careful around the roots...they take the bleach first! go to a beauty supplier, and ask them what they recomend! you dont have to pay them for their advice!
