that really makes no sense.
not all horses race.
if you mean racehorses the distances are varied but I have never found a race shorter than 5 furlongs or longer than 3 3/4 mile.
depends on the ability stamina and endurance of a horse
That's a hard question to answer. For instance, my appaloosa will on a good day run for a mile or so. On the other hand, I'm working my Missouri Foxtrotter up for a 100 mile one day endurance race.
in horse racing its based on age. for example, maiden horses (colts/fillies who havent raced yet) wont run an exact mile, its to far for their soft bones. but a 3 year old whos been raced well will run somtimes 2 miles. or 3 3/4 as miss midnight said.
