How does intelligent design support your religion?

golden retriever puppy Asked by qtpi3 about 1 year ago, 10 answers.

There is a gap that creationists have so far not explained to my satisfaction. Let’s assume, ONLY for the sake of argument, that we have agreed that you all are right and the Big Bang and evolution are hoaxes.

So from this point, how do I arrive at...

the conclusion that Jesus Christ is the son of God, or that Krishna is the incarnation of Vishnu, etc.? If I have come to the conclusion that the universe must have been created from intelligent design, and that is the only conclusion I have, how does that prove any specific belief system?

My opinion: I would need some type of evidence or proof or convincing that YOUR GOD specifically and no other, created the universe.

So far, you’ve all been arguing in favor of intelligent design. But intelligent design doesn’t even lend credibility to your particular system of beliefs. Why argue in favor of it? And how does arguing against the Big Bang lend any credibility to your belief system?

Well, I believe in the big bang theory. I also believe that something so great and intelligent and so powerful( not comprehendable to the human mind ) made this happen. This power is part of gods cosmic energy. This god we can call Vishnu, Allah etc This great cosmic energy is so great that it's too hard to percieve through the human eye.

You believe that everything came from nothing, which takes much more faith than a Christian's faith in God.

First of all, I don't believe everything came from nothing. That's not what the Big Bang theory says, and that's not what a single proponent of the theory believes today.

Second, how do flowers, ladybugs, and trees, prove the existence of the Christian god? Even if I decided all of those things do prove that a god exists, I could just as easily believe in Vishnu or some other god.

Silverwings you've said exactly what I wanted to say...again!

So,sorry... if you come into the family of God, you will have to come just like the rest of us have, on faith.

If you become humble, and drop the attitude, and truely seek God, you will find him.

Until then, everything else is just useless arguements.

No person on earth can prove or disprove there is or is not a Creator. It is up to you to do that and if you desire it bad enough, you'll find Him.

Well at least you're both willing to admit that it takes faith, and no substantive evidence whatsoever, to bring a person from ID theory to your particular religion's creation account.

But in so doing, I've noticed that both of you couldn't resist taking a jab at irreligious views, and that further reinforces my notion that religion cannot be defended logically, so the plan is to keep everybody's attention focused on the flaws in the opponent's views.

Everyone wants proof or a sign? some things have to be taken on faith? Just look around and see the perfectness of everything? that didn't happen by chance. DBA evidence has pretty muck proved you weren't a monkey?

paulcic,
Excuse me??? DNA evidence has proved we didn't evolve form early primates? Care to show us that evidence?

Yes, belief in the supernatural requires faith, because there is no proof.

Why can't you keep your faith to yourself?

Why must you attempt to discredit things you know nothing about simply because it challenges your faith?

If we didn't want proof of things, and to understand our world, we would still be living in caves.

Are you saying that science and exploration are useless? Are you advocating unquestioning obedience?

We've tried those approaches before - it was called the Dark Ages for a reason.

Actually, we have mountains of proof, flowers of proof, trees of proof, ladybugs, birds, grasshoppers, water, air...the Creator made it all and much more. You believe that everything came from nothing, which takes much more faith than a Christian's faith in God.
