How do you make a homemade pregnancy test?

I just want to know is any body has enough general and science knowledge to know how to make a pregnancy test at home.

Answer #1

Well I can tell you this much!

If I could tell you that I would be sued for doing the pharmaceutical companies out of business, everyone would do their own pregnancy tests at home and the companies who make them would loose thousands of pounds.

Answer #2

if you can’t afford one you can always go to a clinic, most of them offer a free home pregnancy test.

Answer #3

use a dandelion. I’ve read two ways: pee on the roots and if it it turns purple you re pregnant, or pee on the leaves and if they get red blotches you are pregnant.

Heres some interesting info I found that the people did way back in time before mordern pregnancy tests were invented..

The ancient Egyptians watered bags of wheat and barley with the urine of a possibly pregnant woman. Germination indicated pregnancy, and based on what type of grain sprouted they predicted the gender of the fetus. Hippocrates suggested that a woman who had missed her period should drink a solution of honey in water at bedtime. Resulting abdominal distention and cramps would indicate the presence of a pregnancy. Avicenna and many physicians after him in the Middle Ages performed uroscopy, a nonscientific method to evaluate urine. Selmar Aschheim and Bernhard Zondek introduced testing based on the presence of hCG in 1928.[7]

In the Aschheim and Zondek test an infantile female mouse was injected subcutaneously with urine of the person to be tested, and some time later the mouse was killed and dissected. Presence of ovulation indicated that the urine contained hCG and meant that the person was pregnant. A similar test was developed using immature rabbits, the rabbit test. Here, too, it was necessary to kill the animal to check its ovaries. An improvement arrived with the frog test that was still used in the 1950s. A female frog was injected with serum or urine of the patient. If the frog produced eggs within the next 24 hours, the test was positive. In the frog test, the animal remained alive, and could be used again.

Step 1 Strip the dandelion leaves off the stem. Gently pull the dandelion leaves off the stem. Save the leaves.

Step 2 Place the leaves on a piece of plastic wrap on the ground outside. You are going to be leaving them on the ground for about an hour, so make sure that they are in a safe place and that they are not in direct sunlight.

Step 3 Urinate on the dandelion leaves. You should saturate them fairly thoroughly.

Step 4 Let the leaves sit. Check on them every ten minutes. If you see red blisters develop on the leaves, then this is an indication that you may be pregnant.

Answer #6

I dont know if you can, the chemicals that react to the hormones are probably only found in chem labs… I know they used to use rabbits to test for pregnancies before the invention of the pregnancy test… But somehow I dont think you’ve got rabbit ovaries sitting around?

Answer #7

It would be far far cheaper to go buy one at the local chemist or Asda super store! and far more reliable
