How do you get rid of dried up mucus in chest

After taking antibiotics and over the counter stuff, my chest cold dried up in 2 days. Now its down there and getting worse, but only have a dry cough. Getting so it's hard to talk, no exercise, no jogging, very little breath, getting worse,...

particularly if laying on my back or in a reclining chair. Looking for suggestions of what really works to get this out of me.

If you lie down, your chest tends to clog up... I've had asthma since I was 12, so I have to deal with this regularly. Pile up pillows so that you're not lying down flat and so that you're at an angle, avoid lying down unless you're sleeping...

Gargle with salt water... drink honey and lemon in warm water, get those cough drop things.. Stop exercising till you feel better, stop talking till you feel better. Try decongestant during the day. Try steaming, usually I just take a hot bath and that helps. Vicks vapor rub on your chest? Drink soup with ginger in it... Keep yourself hydrated with warm liquids. Uhm yeah, those are the home remedies I know of... the rest is up to your doctor if you're not feeling better...
