How do you blend hair extensions with short hair

ok so my hair is really short its by my ears and I got extensions and they blend very well but the thing is,
if I just wear a tank top or a tshirt, and when people look at me from behind, they can see how long my real hair is when they look by my neck...

how can I fix this? do I just have to wait for it to grow out more?

the lady at my salon has random pieces in her hair.
she has short hair naturally, and then on the inside by her neck, she has a thin layer.
then on top where her hair is shorted, she stuck pieces of extensions all over, and it looks like she got it cut like that

well whatever colour extensions you rgetting get it done to your hair and you know your normal short hair get that layered and it WILL blend in
