well I think you should tell her something worse like maybe say mom you are a grandmother and point to your stomach then she will get excited and then scared and then really mad so wait for the fireworks to go completely burzurki then she would already be upset then tell her I am wiccan and she will go oh thats all?
As a parent, I'd be very disappointed and hurt if any of my daughters chose to follow a man-made created religion - that doesn't bring honor and glory to the One true God of the Bible.
Grow up already. The idea of one god was created by an Egyptian way after the Pagan such were in existence. There's supporting evidence stating that the art of divination has been in existence since cave men when they would carve skulls to ward off evil. Wicca I admit is only a few centuries old at max, but still not that bad of a practice. Some of it is based of healing protection magical based off ancient practices, though with a modern twist. Here's a question, have you been for 5 months or have you studied it for 5 months? It takes a year a day to become a Wiccan.
Now, getting on subject, she's your mother, she should except you no matter what, you're her child, offspring, flesh blood. I thought I'ld have to keep it a secrete from my mother, my sister blurted it out that I am a witch(different from Wicca) she brags about it now, though I still claim I just study the occult witchcraft. What you can do is just say you study it see what she does, if she's okay with it wait a little bit or just tell her that you've decided to become a Wiccan.
As an Ex Wiccan I'm going to suggest you Give it up now. . .
As A Parent I would be crushed.
** It takes a year a day to become a Wiccan.** LOL, I was practicing for years and I never heard that one.
witch(different from Wicca) NOT. . . . The words are interchangable and one in the same.
erm I've been studying for that long seriously.
oh and the year and a day thing isn't necessary.
If you have a really fundamental type family, who is going to freak out because the word wiccan comes out, try explaining what you believe without mentioning WHAT religion you believe in... if that makes any sense.
explain what you believe, then tell her its Wicca, not the other way around,
that may help keep what she thinks wicca is vs. what it actually is in perspective.

boy do you need to do some research.
just because people use them interchangeably doesn't mean it's right. A witch is basically a practitioner of the occult magick, Wicca, only a few hundred years max if even that, is a more modern practice, the belief of a God a Goddess. They more commonly use tools live the laws Rede (though some witches may as well). Wiccans most commonly practice simple white magick, where as a Witch is free to practice a much broader range. Though the 3 fold laws still applies to all magick in every action you do in life.
Ask around, there's plenty of witches wiccans who'll vouch for me. I highly doubt you were a Wicca if you don't even know that tid-bit of information.
Please don't give me this ex-Wiccan crap, I'm an ex Christian, ex head witch of a triad(later turned into a coven of 5). So don't give me that crap. I've been there done that. I know well over 30 types of magicks practicies.
Though since you are an ex-wiccan, I'ld like you to please tell me all you know about magick, the laws, rules, meaning of certain symbols, the type of wiccan you were, simple such like that please. Humor me.

I'm having the same problem and I have been for 3 years and she told me its a bad thing but I feel more confident about myself maybe you can talk to a family member or friend who you feel really comfortable talking with an who knows your mother to see if they can talk to her about it I mean freedom of religion she can't make you what you don't want to be thats what I would say email me if you need any more help Fun mail me
