Q: How do I take good care of a leopard gecko?

My brother and I just got a male leopard gecko and we have never had lizzards before and neither has anyone else in my family. Does anyone have any advice for us?!

A: Do your research *before* you take on the commitment of an animal. You are responsible for his care and wellbeing, and you can't properly manage that if you haven't the slightest clue what you are doing. Worst thing ever to be honest. Most reptiles/exotics that end up dead do so because first time owners have no clue what they are doing. I suggest you start searching the web - I've never had a gecko, if it were a chameleon I could help, but not with a gecko. There are sites dedicated to their well-being and care. Please remember his calcium & vitamins, gutload all live foods please - vet bills are expensive, and a dead animal, or one you can't afford to treat is worse.

A: Your lizard needs to be in a semi warm environment such as a heating blanket underneath the cage. And you feed it crickets where I go I can get a dozen crickets for $1.00 and that lasts about a week.

A: Geckos only eat live crickets/mealworms.
