How do i swallow a really big pill?

haha yea I have trouble with these things. I have a prescription for these HUGE allergy medication pills and I can barely swallow them. and everytime I do I start to choke lol. how do I get it down really quick and choke-free?

I hate swallowing tablets too,I always have,if I ever had capsules I would open them up and tip the stuff in some water and drink it and with other ones I would crush them up with a spoon and do the same.After having to take a lot of tablets not too long ago after breaking an ankle I just put it in my mouth and got a glass of water and just drank heaps of water really quickly. good luck !!

Is it not possible to cut it into smaller pieces ?

Before crushing or breaking the pill make sure it isn't a sustained or time release drug. Crushing or breaking pills defeats the mechanisms to delay release of the drug..

I have a bit of trouble swallowing big pills. The biggest pill I take is 500mg Lysine tablets that I take when I get cold sores. My technique is to take a drink of milk to make my throat slippery, toss the pill mid-tongue, then take another big gulp of milk and try to forget the pill is in my mouth; it just goes along with the big gulp of milk. Usually I don't even feel it though occasionally I gag on the pill.

What I usually do is hold the pill at the tip of your fingers and open your mouth really wide and put it all the way down your throat so your thoart opens up and drop the pill it will go straight down then drink some water really quick.***peace***

you can get a pill cutter at the drug store for very little cost. cut it up so you can swallow it.

...unless its a capsule.
