How do i level up in gears of war 2?

please tell me how to level up in gears of war 2.
I want to no where to go, and how it works and when will it end

And also can I leave the game early and still get xp and level?

The ranks are based on how well you do in general - the amount of points per match, wins/loses, kills/deaths etc. Just remember your rank is dynamic, it can go up or down
