How do i get over with my star wars obesession?

I'm a female fan. I write fanfics about it, and I like Leia a lot! I've been into it since I was like, Grade 4 (I'm now 23 years old), and I can't figure out why I'm so attracted to it. The obsession doesn't cripple my everyday life, thankfully, but...

there were times when I fought with my mom because of it. She tells me to get over it, to outgrow it. What do I do?

If it's not crippling your everyday life, and you enjoy it, why stop it hun?
It doesn't matter what anybody else thinks about it, it's YOUR life and you choose to do what you'd like with it

I used to be obsessed with starwars. I used to watch it ALL the time and I used to collect anything and everything that had to do with it. it got so bad when I started thinking about it non stop and I would even collect pics of one of the guys who played a character and I'd even take them to school with me. it was horrible. one day though my mom told me to be careful because if I kept that act up it might seem like I was worshipping starwars.
I don't know why but for some reason that sentence must have triggered something in me because after that I started cutting back on it.
It also helped when I started growing up and started to get into other things like music, movies, games, dances,etc.

just be yourself, if you like star wars thats your unique thing. You will grow out of it when you are ready. dont let anyone make you feel bad because you enjoy it. I have liked cartoons and anime since I can remember, I still do eventhough im 28. Just be yourself grrl. ps: star wars is and always will be awesome!
