You need food, games, decorations, supplies for the games and other forms of entertainment like music and things like that. Finger foods are key for baby showers and other parties like housewarmings and bridal showers.

A babyshower is usually thrown by a friend or family member of the soon-to-be-mom.

A baby shower needs food (depending on what time its planned for you may need meals or just snacks), party games and presents!!!

FOOD
For a morning to early noon baby shower you may want to serve breakfast with muffins, sweet breads (such as banana), pancakes/waffles with toppings, fresh fruit, variety of fruit juices, toast, eggs (scrambled is easiest), breakfast sausages, bacon, and/or yogurt.

For a noon to mid day baby shower lunch can be served. With things such as sandwiches, salads, hot dogs/sausages, french fries, cake, ice cream, vegtables with dip, fruit salad, and/or chips/munchies.

For a mid day baby shower you can just serve loads and loads of finger foods. These are always so fun to eat and they taste great! Some examples include: finger sandwiches, crackers with cheese, baguette bread with your choice of spread, chicken nuggets, jalepeno poppers, veggies with ranch dip, fruit with yogurt dip, trail mix, chips/munchies, pop, chicken wings, spring rolls, and/or fondue (cheese or chocolate).

For dinner any dish can work. You may choose a pasta such as spagetti, pizza, hamburgers, or chinese take-out, with sides of wings, fries, salad, and/or soup. Dessert can include cake, tarts, cookies, and/or brownies. Whatever you do don't forget to have wine for your guests!

From experience I'd say breakfast is the most fun. It's healthy so the mom-to-be doesn't have to worry about what shes eating, its tasty and breakfast is the best meal of the day!!!

GAMES
There are lots of games you can play at baby showers. You can find them on the web or you may come up with them all on your own.

My favourite game I played a baby shower was Guess whats in the diaper. Sounds gross but it was full of laughs. The person leading the game hands everyone a slip of paper with numbers 1-5 then one by one the guests go the diaper matching the number on the slip of paper and write down what they think is in it based on scent, and appearance. You may decide to fill the diaper with spices, ice cream, flavouring, juice, etc. Whatever you do its a blast! AT the end the leader collects the papers to see which guest got most of the diapers correct!

PRESENTS
Guests should never arrive without a present. The way I see it preents include toys, clothing and necessities for the baby. The more the better! :D

Just don't stress while planning baby shower. You CANNOT go wrong. The guests are there to congratulate the soon-to-be mom on her child, any food or games are just extra!
