How come theres no white Heritage month?

This is an honest question so I would like some honest answers. So any raciest remarks will be submitted so answer carefully. We all know there’s Black history month, and even Hispanic Month but for some reason no one ever talks about White Heritage month? Research does show and talk about whites being bought and sold into slavery before black people were so how come no one ever feels sorry for them? Look at the Nazis who killed all those Jewish people no one seemed to care about them and their families it seems like the only time they are is when it’s brought up in a history class. I for one think it ain’t right to feel sorry for a group of people based on ones skin color, If someone was being tortured or killed based on ones race and skin color then this world would of already been gone.

the main reason that American slavery was harsh was it was racist and if your born a slave you died a slave… when white people where taken as slaves race wasn’t an issue like the Romans for example if they beat u, you where a slave you could be African, German, English, french, Spanish, Moorish, Egyptian they didn’t give a dam AND you could earn your freedom

however, I do not believe their should be a white history month.. but I also think there shouldn’t be a black history month.. I believe that both sides paid equally, they where slaves, and had to face segregation and insults but white people fought the civil war and lost two of our greatest presidents over this so.. I call it even

what I find funny is America atomic bombed japan twice and put Japanese-Americans into interment camps.. but I haven’t heard them complain or get angry (which by all rights they should.. not for the bombing but for the camps)

Because america is one of the most racist country’s on the planet. We try so hard to not be racist that we become more racist. this is a great example right here. no white history month. America works so hard to promote minorities that the majority of the population is in fact demeaned. see the stupid but sadly true thing about america is that usually if your not racist against blacks or another minority your racist against whites. this is a generalization but it is almost always true. The thing is we have black history month basically to say sorry for slavery. (which by the way was horrible and I in no way am I ok with slavery. it’s a terrible practice) but see every group of people was persecuted at some point. my ancestors were tortured to death for there country of origin but I don’t complain and say that my people should have our own month of the year. just saying. no one alive today was a slave. yes it was terrible. but move on people.

I think (in my opinion… I guess) that it’s because many Caucasians can trace their heritage back to Irish, German, Swedish, Italian, Greek etc etc but African Americans usually cannot trace their heritage back too far because of slavery.

Our country is still a very young one… it was not long ago that we had slavery.

Since when can an African American win an Irish scholarship?Or an Italian Scholarship?or Dutch? Scandinavian? Polish? So you see, there are quote unquote white heritage celebrations out there. There just isn’t a month devoted to it as a whole because there are so many subdivisions of Caucasian.

Also remember… you’re comparing minority to majority.

I would agree with Dede - just not in quite those words. (Incidentally, I’m of Scottish-Irish-English descent. Can’t get much ‘whiter’.)

History, until recently, was written by whites for whites - and any other ethnic group was at most a footnote. Even churches turned their Messiah into a white man. So the Ethnic months are an attempt to highlight the contributions of other groups, to gain a bit more balance.

Also there is a Holocaust Remembrance day. It is called Yom Hashoah and it occurs on April12 next year - the date follows the Jewish calendar, so it floats around on the Gregorian calendar .

I honestly did not know there was a Holocaust Remembrance day, It seems like the only things people talk about is how bad someone feels towards Minorities.
