How to curl your hair without curlers?

I'm intrested in curling part of my hair (a bit at the front on either side of my face) for my formal. I do not want to buy anything like curlers etc as this will be the only time I would use it and it would be a waste of money.

Can anyone suggest any ideas?
I have most of the basics like gel, hairspray, hair dryer etc.

I would appricate the help before friday (as this is the formal night)

Dear Tilt-a-Whirl,

Well actually this may sound quite silly, but there is a way to curl small sections of your hair without curlers or irons.

Take a straw (does not matter what kind) and take a small section of your hair (dry) and put a small amount of get on it.

Take the hair and put it around the staw, in a ringlet form.
Hold this for a couple of minutes. If necessary spray some hair spray around the hair on the straw.

Once it seems dry, gently remove hair from the straw. If the hair still seems wet, let it dry for a couple more minutes.

Do this to the amount of hair you would like, and hair spray it so it will hold.

You may want to practice this before just so you'll know what to expect!
Also if this does not work for you, you may want to try and make a hair appointment at a salon. You do want to look beautiful for your special night so this may not hurt.
