How can i make my iphone mms work?

Ohkay so I got the msg from att that I can update to get mms on my iphone..soo I go and sync to itunes adn clic update and upgrade to software 3.1 but I still cant send mms and I did restart like five times..I did udate while having the itunes 8 but then...

I reset my iphone and updated itunes to itunes 9 and backed up my phone to my old setting but it still says that I have software 3.1 which I don't...helpp what do I do

If it's not the iPhone 3G or the3G S mms won't work if if it is one of those 2 take it to the ATT store you got it from
