How can I make my hair smooth and shiny?

I relatively long hair for a guy, but I've been wondering how I can make it smoother and shinier? It's really rough and dull right now? Any advice?

Use conditioner every time you wash your hair. There are some shampoo+conditioner combinations where you don't have to worry about which goes first or how to put each - it's just one thing, wash as with normal shampoo, it will make your hair smooth and easier to comb through.

Aussie makes a spray on conditioner that you don't rinse out that works really good. Another thing you can try is Biosilk, not the shampoo, it's a silk treatment that you put on after you dry your hair. Don't use a lot though b/c it will make your hair look oily. I put a drop in the palm of my hand, rub it in and then rub it on the ends of my hair. It's a little bit expensive, but it works great.
