What happens when anorexics are put in the hospital?

when you get put in the hospital for anorexia what happens?. iam really scared please help.

They need to put things into your system and stomach so that it doesnt shrink

different hospitals work in different ways, because you're a minor you would def need parental consent to leave no matter what...
now if you are doing really bad they may not release you until you have been stabalized (now this does not mean cured, but simply at a good enough weight where you're not a risk to yourself), however again it depends on the hospital and the staff at what point they think you are stable...

You need to calm down. I know it's scary. But cooperation goes a long way in these hospitals...

I'm sorry, I kinda know this stuff in general, but anorexia isnt something I've studied in depth, I dont know... and honestly again it depends on how cooperative you are, how fast you gain weight, and whether it's a long term place or simply a place to stabalize you and then they'll let you out to continue therapy at home. What you could do is when you talk to the doctor ask them what their specific goal or aim is before they would release you (dont ask how long you'll be there, they are trained to dodge this question) also ask what the average length of treatment is... (again dont bring your self into it)

Your BMI is around 13.5, you are a long way from fine my dear. You should be looking at around 18.5 at the minimum. That's about 7 and a half stone at your height. Just go along with your family's wishes, and do what ever the hospital staff say. I'm not trying to scare you, but if you don't and carry on like this you will die. The hospital staff and your parents know what they're doing.

ok, you arent healthy...im 4'7 and im 110 lbs...=( you could die if you dont get what you need, your family is doing what is right for you, just cooperate with the people @ the hostpitol, I HATE that place, but the people arent bad, there just trying to help..

thank you guys so much, I know I am not as healthy as I could be. I am just so scared and I don't want to do this. they gave me chanses by having doctors come to my house but I guess 'I didn't coaperate at ALL' but it's MY body not theirss..so technically they cant do anything about it. ahhh

can I just ask, im having weight problems at the mo, im 5ft 8 and weigh 58pnds everytime I have a meal my stomach really hurts,, is that what happens if your too thin,, I thort I had a hernis because I sumtimes get a lump, but im in agony and need to find out whats wrong with me,,,
