Should I get highlights and what color?

So I have a pretty dark color of brown hair, almost black. I have carmel and blonde-ish color of highlights. I liked the way it looked, but my hair grows WAY to fast! Therefore, you can see my dark brown roots pretty good. I kind of want some auburn color of highlights once these blonde colors fade/grow out. I got auburn highlights about 2 years ago, I liked it, but then again I didn't really get anyone's opinons. So what do you think!? Grow my natural hair color out? Blonde ish highlights? or auburn highlights?

I love the highlights in your picture, but if you want something different then try out the auburn and see how you like it.
