Is there a website to give details about last names?

I'm curious about where I can find a website in which gives relatively good detail on the heritage of a last name; where it came from, what it means, who the ancestors are.
I know there is ancestry.com, but that costs money. Money that I don't have...

right now.
Any suggestions?

yes there is actually well an easy way is to just go to google and type in your lastname. then write heritage next to it - kenzeradviser

There are a lot of websites out there. Ancestry.com is not worth it. They give you the same information other websites give out for free.
