Helpful questions?

mee Asked by intense 8 months ago, 5 answers.

I've noticed that sometimes there will be an answer that says '0 people found this answer helpful' and in the same question there could be another answer that says 'did you find this answer helpful?

This confuses me. How does an answer come to have 0...

people finding it helpful? Does this mean there is a way to vote for an answer to be not at all helpful? Cause I thought there was either a question asking IF you found it helpful and that was all.

I hope this makes sense, it makes sense in my head happy

Until recently, the 'Did you find this answer helpful?' function had a 'Yes' or 'No' option. The 'No' option was removed recently because people were abusing that option because they didn't like the person who answered, not because the answer wasn't good.

If you came across a thread with answers that said '0 people found this answer helpful', it may have been when the 'No' option was still around.

FYI, the 'No' option will be brought back when the admin develops a way to track the people who voted, so that we can track those who abuses the function.

after someone else's answer, then you can choose if the answer is helpful.
but a question can have many answers, and not all answers are helpful
thats why some answers have 0 people thinking that it was helpful
and some answers have several people thinking that it was helpful
happy
hope I helpeddidnt confuse you
happy

I mean like say you have 2 answers.
One says that '0 people find this answer helpful.'
The other asks 'did you find this answer helpful?'

To me, both have not been considered helpful yet. but why does one have a 0 number of people and the other doesn't? What makes it different?

mysterywolf is right
and it just means one person rated the answer marked as 0
and no one rated the other answer
most answers dont get rated, so they say did you find this answer helpful
if no one rated it thats what it says at the bottom
if someone did rate it
when the no option was around it will say if people found it unhelpful or helpful
and now it just says if anyone found it helpful
