How do I keep my hair from frizzing or poofing out?

Okay, I have really thick curly hair.
I love to straighten it but it takes forever and I try so many different hair products to try and either keep it from frizzing or to keep it straight and from poofing out.

ANY IDEAS!?!?

Grow your hair into dreads, they work well with thick hair and girls with dreads look hot as hell

The hair dresser gave me this stuff called silk infusion by CHI, said to rub in a little at the ends after straightening, should keep the hair from frizzing...

Also, when you dry your hair, make sure it's completely dry otherwise it will poof..
