does any one know the possible future for solar energy in australia or if I would be a useful energy source in australia??? please I really need to know if any one is a nerd they will tell me =] hehe

solar energy is already being used extensively in Australia, however no where near providing for the whole country.

It is a useful source, and has a huge future. The government supports solar energy in the form of rebates and MRETs which are Mandatory Renewable Energy Targets.
These set targets for company's or generators to meet by certain dates.

I heared of a clever idea they were doing in the USA off the coast of Florida. It was basically wind power but for the under water currents that run through the area. They had an (apparently) animal friendly turbine system that would be enough to power a small city.
