Help! mother is depressed

Don't we look cute together? Asked by ldsmous over 3 years ago, 3 answers.

Okay, about a year ago I moved out of state to be with my boyfriend of 2 years. About the past 6 months or so I have found out that my mother is extremely depressed and the dr just strengthened her medication. I talked to my friend's aunt yesterday and...

she said that my mom isn't doing well. I will be visiting her in about a month, and want to know if there is anything I can do to help her out. I know that the medication should help her, but she sleeps all day and I don't know what is making her depressed. Plese give me some ideas. Thank You.

I'm not sure what she did right before she was depressed because I wasn't there. I moved to Arizona in April 2005 and she was just diagnosed as depressed this last last summer. She lives in Nevada.. so it's not easy to visit all the time. Any other suggestions?

talk to her on the phone, ask her friends, check her phone calls, and e-mails, did she just break up with a boyfriend? if she lives by herself than that could be a reason. have you ever thought that you were the cause of the deppression. not to put you on the spot but maybe you moving out and her missing you caused this deppression. maybe something at her job caused it. or is she on any new medication that could have caused her deppression.
