Healthy pizza recipe

dhooni Asked by dhooni about 1 year ago, 1 answer.

How do you make a healthy pizza? What kind of toppings would you use. Are certain types of dough better for you than others?

First thing I thought when I saw that picture was the pizza was piled with peporoni - definitely not healthy! The way to make sure it's healthy is to include lots of vegatables, use low skim mozzarella, so that the cheese has less fat in it, and also to use not as much cheese overall. If the people you're cooking for won't complain, try substituting whole wheat crust for white flour, as it has more nutritional value. The thing to remember is to keep the saturated fat (cheese) to a minimum & try to load it up with healthier stuff, and if you must use meat, try to cook it then add it to the pizza, so that the fat runs off before you pile it on.
