Has anyone taken speech class before?

Has anyone taken speech class before? I don’t mean for therapy, I mean public speaking. It could be on a high school level or college level. If you are currently taking summer classes or starting to get ready, would you like to take up public speaking? I know it’s nerve racking but, you’ll get over it. I like speech don’t get me wrong it’s just that I’m nervous to give a speech. I was supposed to give my informative speech today but, the instructor is having the rest of the class finnish up on Wednesday which is wonderful for me since the only material I don’t have are my notes. I’m visually impaired and won’t be able to write my notes but, I think that I could find a better way. So, to get to my point, if you are thinking or already taking speech, have you all had to give an informative speech before? I would love to hear your opinions or stories on that.

Throughout college, we ended up giving so many speeches and presentations, it became almost routine. I know everyone says that taking a public speaking class is important, but we did it so much in every other class (I was a journalism major) that I never really felt the need. I think 80% of the class is training you to get used to being in front of people, but that process happened naturally even without the formal class.
