When we cook hamburgers, typically I overcook them & press down on the grill (we only make them at home on a barbeque). This helps to make sure that the juices are squeezed out, and the meat sticks together better.
The patty is made by stirring in onion, garlic, lean ground beef, and barbeque sauce, all mixed together - I think if you mix it together that way & then form the patties to grill or cook, it should work well.
USE EGGS, THEY MAKE THEY BEEF STAY TOGETHER.
Add oatmeal. 1cup for 1 lb.
