Hair lightening ideas?

I have medium brown hair and its almost to my elbows and super thick..its really healthy and naturally wavy too so if I used something to lighten it would it be damaged? Also..does lemon juice actually work?

any thing that lightens will damage it, except possible the sun? I lighten my hair by laying in the sun for an hour or so, it works well

everything that ligthens hair, damadges it one way
even lemon juice, it dries it out a lot
but it does work if you do it properly
bleach can be dangerouse
so if you do it perhaps go to a salon for the first time
that way youll know what to do
bleach strips your natural colour,
and can makehair weaker and brittle if not nursed back to health
if youve never dyed your hair then the bleach will work better and faster,
so theyll be a bit less damagde, also if done correctly

well if you want to lighten it I suggest doing highlights for starters. don't just bleach it all it will damage your pretty hair. do highlights, and after letting your hair heal a bit, try dying it a really really light blonde. your highlights will bleed through the blonde and will look much more natural and summery
