Guitar hero 3 (need help/tips/advice for...)

I just got a Guitar Hero 3 for Christmas and I've finished all the easy songs. Now I'm on medium. And I got to the part where I need to battle Slash to get on to the next songs.
But I can't beat him! How do I do it?
Is there a trick to it?

tried forever to beat him.

I get pretty much most of the notes and hit him with all the extra stuff like, Broken String Wammy everything whenever I get it. I end up being in the green part of the scoring and he's in the red/yellow and he gets the last notes and he starts going slowly into the yellow/green and mines still in the far far green, and then mine will just start zooming into the red when I'm not doing ANY thing! And there's NO notes for me to do. I can't do anything. Then I lose.

Why's this? How can I beat him?

It took me forever to beat that stupid guy.. but I would save all my stuff, like the wammy and whatever, and when a lot of notes were coming up on his side, I'd use it on him. That's pretty much all I did. =D

You can save every thing you get? It won't remove the other when you get a new one?

I was able to save some! I don't remember if you can get like 2 wammys or whatever but I know you can get new ones!

Well... I play expert on Gh... but I can see your problem because I can't beat the last person on expert. What I do is that I save up all of my powerups and then when he has lots of notes (if you play a lot you know when lots of notes come) then I hit him with all 3 at the same time. That should do it. Hope I could help!!
