The really good ones are expensive unfortunately, the brand 'CHI' is the best, but very pricey. So, if you want a good one, then you should save up and get a good one so you know it will work perfectly.
I don't know if you no anyone who sell's avon but they have some good hair straiteners at good prices
Well I am the biggest fan of ghd's they are the best and you cxan get the normal ones for about 70GBP now online so reasonable but very good quality!!
the best straightener I've ever used is the one by John Paul Mitchell.
they sell it only in hair salons, its not too expensive either,
especially since it works sooo good.
it makes your hair pin straight but it doesnt fry it, it makes it silky.

There are good inexpensive ones out there. Just make sure you get one with ceramic plates, if you can also find one with tourmaline that's even better. Check at Sally Beauty Supply, and you should be able to find one for about $50.
I got a Tourmaline ceramic hair straighter..
for 30 bucks...
I haven't used it yet..
im not sure if it's good...
:\
