God & jesus

Redness Asked by serinaty 7 months ago, 20 answers.

If God was Jesus then why did God kill himself? And how could God die?

Its simple -

God requires Sacrifice. That is why we have to behave - we are sacrificing bad behavior in order to be in unison with God, makes sense right? Holiness cannot have bad things ...

Remember a long time ago, God asked Abraham to sacrifice his son, to prove Abraham loved God. God stopped him before the knife touched the boy. In turn God said - Get a ram, spill his blood, and this is our bond. You must spill your blood (circumcision) as a bond to me...

What this is getting at, is that God sent his Son (in physical - flesh and blood) to Earth so that God can RE - Connect (Religion = Re - again + Liga - band) with his people. So Jesus is God in Spirit, amongst humans... And God - The Father - carried out the sacrifice to prove he loved us - and to say - This Blood I am shedding, I am shedding to wash away all the bad things and reconnect with you!!
Which is why we say, Jesus was crucified to wash away our sins, literally by the Old Testament reference of the bloodshed, and spiritually, by the reconnection to God's plateau.
God bless!!

I'm not sure which religion you have learnt this from but here's my understanding.

God sent Jesus, his only son, down to earth to teach and then eventually die and suffer for our sons so that we didn't have to.

It is not very likely that it all really happened. It is most probably just a fantastic story made up by people. And in stories... anything can happen.

God is a spirit who has always been, is, and always will be - He is Supernatural and we humans cannot understand all about Him because of our limited human capabilities - we are finite, God is infinite / everlasting - Jesus was both God and man (John 10:30 I (Jesus) and the Father are One) - God is a Spirit: and they that worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth.” Since God is a spiritual being, God does not possess physical human characteristics - God gave Jesus to die for our sins, and He raised Him to life, so that we would be made acceptable to God (Romans 4:25) - God cannot even look upon sin - man is born into sin - Jesus paid the price for our sins, as a sacrifice, and for all those who will take up the cross and follow Him gain eternal Salvation.

I TOO HAVE a lot OF MY OWN QUESTIONS

Jesus was God's literal Son, according to the Bible, and spiritually, he is our Elder Brother. Just like spiritually God is our Father.

The Trinity was a concept of man that took a century to decide. Pretty much the same in the case of the Rapture, and all of that other fundamentalist garbage.

Frankly, if you don't want to be confused, go study the scirptures yourself( I suggest looking into other stuff, too, like the Dead Sea Scrolls, the Original Hebrew and Greek versions, if you can read in those languages, and if you're looking for a little more variety, the LDS Book of Mormon. These all have something good to say about God, and all reinforce His existence, assuming you enter your studies with an open mind). With all of the things being taught in the world, the best bet is to study on your own, deciding the literal from the figurative. Anyone who doesn't let themselves be influenced by others during their studies is less likely to look like a quack, because most of the Christians in the world rely on tradition and what Preacher tells them to think. A good portion of them have never read the Bible all the way through from start to finish.

I have, been looking in to Greek and Hebrew and also have learned a lot of things on my own I us to believe in the Trinity but have been learning to look and see what the bible is really saying, I just asked this question on here to see what other peoples thoughts were. I am able to be open minded and understand the different point of views. =)

---We could not get to Heaven because Adam and Eve ate the fruit God specificly said not to eat.---

Well, you see, I have to disagree with you there. There are a few Christian sects that don't believe we are responsible for the transgressions of Adam and Eve, but only our own. I am from one of them. They brought sin into the world by allowing us to think, and know right from wrong, and because of this, people are able to make their own decisions. A side effect of that is having to learn from our mistakes, dealing with the consequences of poorly thought out choices. If ADam and Eve hadn't exercised agency, we would not be here, because Adam and Eve wouldn't be able to procreate.

Can't Jesus just be a sacrifice, where in the Bible does it say that he has to be God to make a Sacrifice. God gave Jesus the authority over the people.

God the Father, Jesus the Christ, and the Holy Ghost are all separate beings however they are one in purpose. I'm not positive on the reference but I believe it's Acts 7:55 that talks about them being separate.

and I like your reasoning serinaty.
