I was on the underground once, I hated it I did not have a clue I kept asking people all the time. I found them ok when I explained it was my 1st time. I hate cities and crowds, give me the countryside anytime. there again there are people who travel on the underground every day with no problem..I'm not trying to put you off.

I don't know if this is too late but:
the tube system is really easy to navigate, and if you go wrong, it is so simple to just go back and start over. To get to edgware Road:
hop on the tube at liverpool st, and stay on until Nottinghilll gate (this will take about 25mins)
At Nottinghill Gate follow the signs to the District line (represented in Green),
[you could also get a circle line train (yellow) as it follows the same route to edgware road.]
From here Edgware Road is only 3 stops.
I hope this helps you and remember to pick up a tube map at liverpool st station so you're always prepared. The signs are all very clearly labelled so you can't really go wrong.
If you get worried in small spaces, it helps to just plug in your iPod and forget about the other people. I count the tube stops as I go along so I don't forget where I am. Best of luck and have fun!!!

Is the London Underground hard to navigate? are the people helpful if you get lost? I have only been a couple of times and been on the tube with friends but I get nervous in crowded places and I tend to zone out a bit, I find it hard to concentrate on...
where I am going. My boyfriend only wants me to get on at liverpool street and go to edgwear road. is that far? I dont know why I get so panicky about it!
