Gauges.

Asked by blizz 6 months ago, 11 answers.

Why don't people like gauges? I mean, honestly, they're a big form of art and self expression. The stretching doesn't hurt and even some of the big ones can grow back. My own opinion, though. :3

I think they look cool, but I would ever get them myself.

I just don't find them attractive that's all...it doesn't bother me when people have them...but I definitely wouldn't get any.

In my opinion, I would never get them. They totally ruin your ears, and I just don't think they look good. I don't find saggy ears attractive.

Because apparently people don't understand that they're simply forms of body art and self expression. If someone else wants them, it's honestly no one else's business. If they like them, the have every right to get them. Their body, they're choice. And it's NOT a trend... I'm so sick of people saying that ANY piercing/tattoo is just a trend. They're not meant to be gotten because they're cool... they're supposed to be gotten if the person actually TRULY wants them. Other people need to keep their oppinions to theirselves. I'bve heard people say stupid stuff like they're pointless... well, actually NO piercing OR tattoo is pointless. A lot of times tattoos have specific meaning to the person who got it. And as I've already said, piercings are nothing more than forms of body art and self expression. I honestly don't get why some people make a huge deal over stuff like this... geez.

look in a national geographic magazine and you will see why. they do stuff like that in Africa to their lips and noses just look it up. I have no idea how it became such a fad here. it leaves HIDEOUS holes in your body how is that cool?

because right now its a ternd
kids and teens DONT realise that once the hole is too big it will NEVER grow back
youll be left with an ugly saggy earlobe
and the only way to fix that is with surgery
that leaves a very noticable and permanent scar
kids dont think before they go off getting holes in there flesh
and very few of the kids and teens who have gauged peircings now actually want them

It looks freaking disgusting. People are people, not pincushions. Nor are they swiss cheese, or were meant to be. People have enough holes in their face; their mouth, nose, and the ones that come naturally in their ears. They look gross... I can't contribute any more.

okay, the whole 'being left with an ugly saggy earlobe' and 'needing surgery' is completely WRONG

kay, depending on your ear, anything under 8mm should shrink up to normal size naturally.
anything bigger WILL need assistance, but it is someting you can do yourself, and its relatively painless.

all you have to do is get a sharp knife, and run it along the inside of the tunnel, taking off one layer of skin.
this will reinforce the natural healing process and quicken the shrinking.
you MAY end up with some scar tissue, but as everything, that will fade with time.

I know all this because my boyfriend had 18mm tunnels when I first met him, then his parents made him take it out, and within 6 months, it shrunk down to under 3mm. had he not of physically streched it up to 3mm and kept it here, within a year it would have closed up completely.
