For buddhists- help?

I began practicing Buddhism, but I was wondering- should I have a conversion ceremony?
Also, what goes on at the typical ... I'm gonna call it mass because I don't really know what it should be called.
are there certain types of chants I should...

learn?

Advisor-small

You don't need a big ceremony to become Buddhist - refuge can be taken in your own home...it's more a self-proclamation than a religious expectation. As a matter of fact, ceremonies are often elaborate and therefore, frowned upon.

Please don't call daily rituals a mass - you don't go to church to pray...it's very different from what you seem to be understanding.

I strongly advise you do a little more research before you take refuge - once you do that, it will be much more difficult for you to make mistakes.

no I did a lot of research- I just don't really know the word for the ritual... I thought there might be a more proper word.
