I was nervous also - I remember for awhile I gripped the steering wheel way too tight - I guess to make sure I stayed in my lane - relaxed the grip and it went much better - since you're a new driver, please remember your number one job is to drive the car - don't let anything (that bottle rolling off the seat - a distraction) or you see a friend across the way and wave (not paying attention as you pull out - and get broadsided) - along with that - watch the other car (driving defensively) and expect them to do the wrong thing - I think these help you stay safe...Take care !!
well when i first drove on backgrounds i thought it was really fun! i wasnt scared at all. but once i got out into the highway i was SOOO nervous, panicy and scared! I still get nervous...but i feel alot more calm when i am by myself, cause i dont feel like someone is watching my every move! But i cant handel bad drivers who dont pay attention! My horn is worn out...haha...i dunno just relax pay very close attention and you will be fine! But sounds like you had a great start
It depends on the person i guess though
Well, I've grown up around horses.. so I've had to drive Mules (kind of vehicle), golf carts, and barn trucks around for years before I was able to get my license. I LOVE driving.. never tense or scared. Even getting on the freeways here in LA didn't make me nervous. It really depends on the kind of person you are. Here, you can't get around if you can't drive. Few things are within walking distance. I guess it's just become so pounded into my brain that it's something I HAVE to do, that it never bothered me. I think you'll find that you're tense at first, but you'll ease up. Especially once you have your license and can be on your own.. won't feel like there's someone looking over your shoulder watching your every move. Annnd of course down the road driving will BORE YOU!

How was your first time driving?
How was your first time driving? Was it easy? Hard? Were you scared? Tense? Not afraid at all? I just drove today for the first time and I thought it was awesome! My mom and sister took me on some back roads and let me have a feel of the car and the...
road. I was nervous but I was having a lot of fun too! Just before we got into town, my sister (who is 30) and I switched. My Mom and sister said I did really good for my first time.
Now please tell me your story...
