Finding grandad

Just recently I got told about my dads real dad ... He walked out on my dad and uncle when they were young kids and never came back and my dad got brung up by my grans second husband who he calls his dad. He has tried to get in contact with my dad but...

my dad refused to go and meet him because he has not seen him in like nearly 40 years and my dad wants nothing to do with him. But I kinda feel that I want to find and meet him...dont know why cause of what he did but its just that I might have family out there that I dont even know about. I have not told my dad this yet dont know how to.. Dont know how he will react to it because he hates him. How would I tell him what im wanting to do?

Tell him it's only natural - He's the grandfather I never had or got to know - he's still Family...I wish you the best !!

next time he is in the conversation just say do you think it would be weird if I met him or I wonder if we have extended family...?

once its in the conversation, its easy to bring up hints, suggestions, questions, statements, etc that will show your dad that you are interested. dont push it if your dad is completely not ok with it, unless you are SURE that this is what God wants you to do, or if its justr something you HAVE to do.

another option is to takl to your mom. she could maybe bring it up with your dad.
