Why won't final fantasy 12 let me use elixir?

why will the game not allow me to use an elixer on the magik pot???

Hi,

When you want to use stuff on enemies or allies or whoever you want, press R2 or L2 I think and it switches between whoever you want to use it on.

This game isn't as fun as previous final fantasies. Others in the series, I couldn'tstop playing. This game I play on and off, for about five months now. Anyway, I have no idea about your question. Sorry.
