Clean your kitchen. Put away all food, do not leave dirty dishes out for any period of time- they get used, rinsed, and stuck in the dishwasher. Crumbs get wiped with a damp cloth, then cloth gets rinsed into the sink, wrung out, etc... Once you have the kitchen nice and put away, use either bleach or vinegar to wipe down your surfaces (don't drown yourself in it, lol) and rinse with sponge/cloth and water. Do your floors so that you get rid of the crumbs and then mop. It should only take a day or so for the flies to dissipate. They're there because something is there to sustain them (or so they think). If there are crumbs, they will be there to eat them. If you have rotten food in your fridge, you better believe those little b@st@rds can smell it.
A deep, thorough, clean should eliminate their food source, and the vinegar or bleach smell will drive them away and keep new ones from coming.
One excellent way of getting rid of fruit flies is to spray ammonia around the area where the flies are hoovering and around you door's exterior frames to discourage them from coming into your home in the first place..I got this idea from the following handyman site how-to article:

Yeah, so read the how-tow article up above!
Good luck!
