What are some good healthy snack foods? Even if you have eto mix some things...I want/need all the ideas I can get.

Also, im trying to get my parents to go on a diet with me, but its really hard and im not sure how to do it. I keep stressing to them about how theire health is at risk , especially my dads. His fmaily has a bad past of diabetes and obesity...he's following it pretty well. Its just hard sometimes to keep up the morale...any ideas??

Hlp me please!

Okay well for one. Change everything to "fat free". Skim milk, whole wheat bread (pita bread has no fat!), Use splenda instead of sugar...I actually PREFER splenda over sugar. Substitute your oil for extra virgin olive oil or canola oil

As for snacks, try the following

dried fruits
fresh smoothies with fruits, skim milk, and splenda
pita chips
baked lays
baked tortilla chips with salsa
a handful of nuts (filled with healthy fats, but no more than a handful per day!)
Low fat popcorn
pretzels
3 musketeer chocolate bars - less fat any chocolate bar I know
frozen yougurt, with fat free chocolate sauce (instead of icecream and fudge sauce)
veges and fat free dip (any veges will do - carrots, mushrooms, celery, string beans, brocolli, cherry tomatoes)
Dark Chocolate (50% cocoa or more), also sugar free choclate (sweetened w/ other sweeteners). When something says "no sugar" it doesn't actually mean it has no sweet taste.
popsicles - some you can get with no fat or sugar...still really good!
fruit on the bottom yogurt (my favorite)
Triscuit crackers with low fat cheese and turkey slices (from the deli)
tuna fish mixed with fat free mayo and chopped green onions, salt and pepper, served with peices of pita bread.

I really hope this helps you. Good luck with everything. Feel free to funmail me about any questions regarding this, I would love to help.

Lots of Celery with Peanut butter. Or apples and Peanut Butter. Try buying Low calorie/Low fat Peanut Butter. Celery is a negative calorie food so if you eat them, you only have like -15 calories. (Depending on how much you eat) This is because celery is a very low calorie food, and your body burns more calories digesting it. The only thing is watch the calories in the Peanut Butter. Don't splurge too bad. Protein is good though because it keeps you satisfied. For meals try toast with peanut butter.

Another good snack is Pretzels with yogurt (OR PEANUT BUTTER!) Pretzels are yummy AND low-fat.
