are you screwing them up in the baking? or in the decorating?
what kind of cake do you want to make?
I've got a few different recipes.
apple cake
apple butterscotch cake
carrot cake
chocolate upside down cake
creme de menthe cake
fudgy chocolate layer cake
boston creme pie ( one of my favorites)
chocolate raspberry pound cake

yes ladies- I am a wiccan-cowboy-conservative republican- hunter- outdoorsman, who also happens to be a VERY good cook.
hit me up for my COCONUT FUDGE RECIPE sometime.

ill tell ya how to make the best cake ever lol ITS CHOCOLATE BTW!! but it doesnt have to be choc..

I make it and every1 loves it.. you wouldnt believe...

for the cake you will need:
110g of self raising flour
110g of butter or marge
110g of caster sugar (granulated is FINE)
2 eggs
cocoa powder

and for the butter icing you will need:

200g of butter or marge
400g of icing sugar
cocoa powder

first put the oven to gas mark 5 or 190°C/ 375°F
and grease and flour (very important to flour) two cake tins

- Put the butter in a mixing bowl and beat it until it is soft
- Add the sugar and mix it in
- Crack the eggs and beat them into the mix
- When you have measured the flour, take out a table spoon or so of it.. and replace it with cocoa powder.. then gradually mix that into the rest of the mix. do this until most lumps are gone and it looks done.
- Evenly pour the mix into the two cake tins.
- When the oven is hot, put them in for about 20 - 25 mins
- To check they are cooked just stick a knife in the middle of the cake and it should come out clean. if its got cake mix on, its not cooked properly yet.
- When they are cooked put the cake on a cooling wire and let them cool

For the butter icing that goes in the middle: (on top as well if you want)

- First put the butter in a bowl and beat it for a while to make it really creamy.
- When you have measured the icing sugar, take out a table spoon of it and replace it with cocoa, just like with the flour.
- Gradually add the icing sugar to the butter and mix it up good and beat it until all the lumps are gone.. it should be really nice and chocolately :P hehe

please note that with the butter icing it can take a while and you might not think there is enough butter. but there is, just keep going..

Then when the cakes are cool you can put this icing in the middle.. use a lot! its so nice when you use loads of it..

if you have spare you can add it to the top..

but what I always do for the top is...

I get about 6 chunks of dairy milk chocolate and melt it in the microwave for a min or so and then I spread it on top of the cake and let it cool down. then it tastes bloody lovely.

you shud try. this cake is in high demand in my house lol

if you make it. let me know how it went

No, I am not stoned lol Answered by horrormusic on Jan 31, 2008, 01:27PM
